Job Description

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain Linux servers to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Perform routine system administration tasks including patching, user management, resource monitoring, backup validation, and security hardening.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, OS and assist in troubleshooting network, and application-level issues across physical and virtualized environments.
  • Admin and maintain virtualization platforms including VM lifecycle management.
  • Configure and maintain storage systems (SAN/NAS), including provisioning, zoning, multipathing, and performance analysis.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, including access control, audit compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Monitor system health using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios or similar monitoring platforms.
  • Coordinate with development, networking, and security teams to support infrastructure for mission-critical applications.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, root-cause analysis, and preventive actions.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, SOPs, architecture designs, and operational workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE or equivalent are a plus.

Experience

  • 1–4 years of hands-on experience in Linux/Unix system administration (preferably RHEL / CentOS).
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, virtualization, storage, networking, and security fundamentals.
  • Experience working in enterprise, fintech, or regulated environments is a plus.

Skills

  • Expertise in Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) Server environments.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter, cluster management, snapshots, and VM performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of SAN/NAS storage systems, Fibre Channel zoning, iSCSI, NFS/SMB, multipath configuration, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in configuration management and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Bash/Shell scripting).
  • Experience with monitoring platforms (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana), log management, and alert tuning.
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VLANs, load balancers.
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions e.g. Veeam.
  • Understanding of security hardening, patch management, identity management (FreeIPA/AD), and audit controls.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, high-availability environments.
  • Ability to work in 24/7/365 rotational shifts.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
